Pharmacy services

Quality paediatric medicines and supplies on site, making treatment easier and safer for families.

Pharmacy staff at a table stocked with medicines

Children are not small adults. Dosing depends on age and weight, and splitting an adult tablet is not a safe substitute. Our pharmacy stocks paediatric formulations so a child gets medicine made for them — and you can fill the prescription before you leave.

Prescriptions can be filled before you leave. Our pharmacy stocks paediatric formulations and doses, so children get medicine made for their age and weight rather than an adult product divided down.

What to expect

How a visit works

Four steps, start to finish — so you know what is coming before you arrive.

  1. 01

    Prescription written

Your clinician prescribes with your child's weight and age in mind.

  2. 02

    Dispensed on site

Filled here, so there is no second journey to find a pharmacy that stocks the right form.

  3. 03

    Instructions explained

We go through how much, how often, for how long — and what to do if a dose is missed.

  4. 04

    Questions afterwards

Call us if anything is unclear once you are home. It is better to ask than to guess.

Questions

Common questions

Do you stock liquid forms for young children?

Yes. Paediatric syrups and suspensions are kept in stock so young children do not have to swallow tablets.

What if we cannot afford the medicine?

Tell us. The DellaCare Foundation can cover medicines for families who cannot pay.

Should we finish the whole course?

Yes — especially antibiotics. Stopping early because a child seems better is one of the most common causes of a relapse.
